the breadth
of my favourite path --
lost to wild mustard

fooling no one
the call of a catbird
from somewhere

autumn rain
streaks and patches
on a field horse

in my honour --
mosquitos gathering
at the lake

slug trail
the sharp descent
of a pine needle
