About Simply Haiku

Karina Young

Karina Young lives in Salinas, California, and supports herself as an editor at CTB/McGraw Hill. She is the newsletter editor for the Haiku Poets of Northern California and nourishes herself with haiku, tanka, nature walks, her partner's love, and the wagging tails of her two German shepherds as they play ball.

sliver of moon
behind the rain clouds
on this long drive
a trace of your touch
on my skin

the slant of sun
on the hillside . . .
another hour
of daylight
is slipping away

fog returning to the bay
my father visits me
after many years
again, I am a girl
with doubts

these lilies
on the table . . .
last night
you bloomed in the dark
for me
