"Fuji-san"

Mount Fuji-san
a long climb awaits
many soles

"Fuji-san" was done for a Baren landscape calendar for the month of September. The artist, Frank Trueba, discovered that climbing Mt. Fuji is almost a national obsession and the climbing season is July 1st - August 31st. Mt. Fuji is often referred to as Fuji-san as a sign of respect.
