beneath the stars---
his blue eyes

spring stroll
the prissy pink polish
on poodle toes

pink ribbon
a hand to her chest
at each sunrise

shooting star...
she sings again
slightly off-key

thunderstorm---
the pit bull's face
in my armpit

|
Paula Fisher started writing haiku in Oct of 2003 as therapy for a
stroke. She lives in the Florida Keys and is a single parent. She has had
a few poems published (The Heron's Nest, Frogpond, Haiku Spirit) and
one of her poems was awarded an "Honorable Mention" in the Japan/US 150
competition.
