HAIKU

Roger Jones

gray cat
wreathing my ankles:
winter afternoon

  busting fresh clods
under my bare heels
Earth Day

near midnight:
the floor board groans
under a passing cat

  condolence letter
a black lady bug
lands on my sleeve

shifting log
two sparks quarrel
up the chimney flue
