summer dusk;
she lifts the baby
to a mulberry branch |

homestead auction;
a Chow pup yips
by a bucket of mums |

|
walled graveyard—
summer tourists
knee-deep in daylilies |

|

muggy morning . . .
a fat tick
on the rabbit’s ear |
|
|
gritty snow . . .
a pig’s wet snout
from the passing truck |
