Dave Russo

   summer dusk;
she lifts the baby
   to a mulberry branch
     homestead auction;
a Chow pup yips
   by a bucket of mums
   walled graveyard—
summer tourists
   knee-deep in daylilies
     muggy morning . . .
a fat tick
   on the rabbit’s ear
   gritty snow . . .
a pig’s wet snout
   from the passing truck
