moonlit sky
he rubs the ice cube
against her lips |

winter solstice
a shooting star passes
when I blink |

a soft melody:
drops of rain
from each leaf |
|

|
| |
the scent of rain
thoughts of him
stay with me |

|
autumn winds:
I hear a hum
in the garden |

Raquel D. Bailey is a mother and professional Event Planner, originally from St. Andrew, Jamaica. She is a Florida State University graduate with a BA in English (Creative Writing).
Her fictional short short, "Fred's Port," is the 2007 second place finalist in the annual Chistell Writing Contest and was also published in BigPond Rumour. More of her published work can be found in The Heron's Nest, Acorn, Shamrock Haiku Journal, Wisteria and Chrysanthemum.
