Lynne Rees was born and grew up in South Wales, UK, and moved to Kent, England in 1985 where she ran her own second-hand and antiquarian bookshop for twelve years. She has lived in the Channel Islands, Florida and Barcelona, and is now based in Antibes in the South of France.

She holds an MA in Writing from the University of Glamorgan, a Hawthornden International Writing Fellowship, and is the recipient of the University of Kent’s Faculty of Humanities Award for innovative and imaginative practices in the teaching of poetry. In 2005/6 she was Kent’s representative for ‘Words Unbound’, a writing exchange between England, France, Belgium and Ireland.

Lynne is the author of a novel, The Oven House (2004), a collection of poetry, Learning How to Fall (2005), and co-author of Messages (2006), a volume of short collaborative prose. Her creative and critical haiku writing has been published in the UK, American and Australian journals, as well as in big sky (Red Moon Press 2007), Contemporary Haibun 8 (Red Moon Press 2007), dust of summers (Red Moon Press 2008) and the 2007 and 2008 Snapshot Press Haiku Calendars.

She is the joint editor of the British Haiku Society Haibun Anthology due to be published in 2010.
